Ludovic Venger was a powerful Prince of Men, who swiftly learnt that his father's throne would pass to his elder brothers before it ever got to him.
The disenchanted and vengeful Prince sought through much forbidden lore in the hopes of a solution to his problem, which brought him into contact with a beautiful enchantress who promised to show him such secrets that he would be able to overthrow his father and supercede his brothers in his inheritance. The answer he received was a swift introduction into Vampirism.
When he awoke in Undeath, he found he was gifted with powers to enchant his own personal army so that when they fell in battle or through age, they would rise back up and continue in his unearthly service.
Now he sits in his castle, the bodies of his brothers adorning his walls in lieu of tapestries, and his father's corpse at his feet. In the centuries since, all manner of Undead creatures have flocked to his service, and his army has grown large, as has his hatred of the living. Whilst ridding his lands of a foolhardy Orc invasion, he learnt of a source of great power that he could use to enthrall the whole of Mantica under his cloak of Undeathly service. Though the Orc words were unpronounceable, he understood their guttural speech as Chasm, or Abyss. Now his mighty legions march again, enslaving any humans, killing and raising Dwarfs and Elves to his service, and slaughtering the foul Orcs his army encounters. He rides out at the head of his army upon his winged steed, eager to test his prowess and power against the rumoured dark cousins of the Dwarfs and Elves. He will not rest until the power of the Abyss is his alone to command, and Mantica, a world of corpses bent to his will.
